A special workshop for beginners and beyond in Watercolor Landscape Collage taught by Maureen McGarry.
Treat yourself to a couple of days of watercolor painting with a gorgeous view of the Klamath River, while enjoying delicious locally-sourced meals, in an historic inn, in the middle of Redwood National Park, and at the heart of Yurok Country. And at the same time, you are supporting an important cause.
Since the beginning of time, the Yurok people have had a village at Requa (pronounced Rek-wah). The Historic Requa Inn was built in 1914 above the shore of the Klamath River, and less than a mile from where the river meets the sea.
This workshop offers an opportunity to learn basic watercolor painting techniques, and will explore the art of watercolor collage. The workshops are taught by Humboldt County artist, Maureen McGarry. Go to https://maureenmcgarry.com/ for more information about the artist.
The event also serves as a fundraiser for “Art for the Heart,” a DreamMaker Project of the Ink People Center for the Arts, a local non-profit arts organization in Humboldt County. The project serves survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, and trauma, including those experiencing homelessness. Art activities are offered to survivors in the community as self-care, promoting creative self-expression and emotional support.

- 2 nights in a room in The Historic Requa Inn.
- All meals during the retreat (2 dinners, 2 breakfasts, 1 lunch)
